After a big win in Detroit, what options do the Charlotte Hornets still have, and what is there to do?

The Charlotte Hornets currently sit at 7-6 after a 113-103 win in surprising fashion over the Detroit Pistons. After dealing with an injury scare to Kemba Walker, a groin strain to Jeremy Lamb, and an ankle sprain to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist the Hornets managed to cruise to an easy win against a talented young team.

After the inspiring win over a still rebuilding team, after already losing to the same team Philadelphia 76ers team twice early in the season before they traded to acquire new guard Jimmy Butler, and then seeing the current shape of the rest of the Eastern Conference,.

What more can the team do to improve its odds and possibly get over the large hump that the team seasonally faces? What options would the middling Charlotte Hornets team have to gain a better chance in a weak conference?
